奔驰开发部门主管Thomas Weber近日表示，车厂将在法兰克福车展期间发布续航达到400-500公里纯电动概念车，该车内部结构将成为灵活平台的一部分，因此未来还将应用于其他纯电动车。Weber表示，这是一款“智能概念车”，将是未来极具吸引力电动车的雏形。目前奔驰推出的B级电动车续航里程为200公里，而该车如果投产将成为特斯拉Model S/X竞争车型。

 

Mercedes-Benz electric vehicle concept with up to 500 km range to be revealed "soon"

Mercedes-Benz has announced plans to unveil a new concept with a fully electric powertrain.

 

In an interview with German magazine Auto Motor und Sport, Mercedes-Benz's development boss Thomas Weber admitted the Daimler-owned marque is working on a concept for an electric vehicle which will be introduced "soon." He went on to specify the vehicle in question will have a maximum range of 400 to 500 km (248 to 310 miles) and its underpinnings will be part of a flexible platform which will be implemented in other future EVs.

 

Little else is known about the mysterious vehicle right now, but Weber has described it as an "intelligent concept" which will preview a "highly attractive electric vehicle." The quoted range represents a massive hike compared to the B-Class Electric Drive which on paper does up to 200 km (124 miles) and we won't be too surprised if the production car will be positioned as a Tesla Model S or X rival.

 

It will be interesting to see whether by "soon" Weber meant the electric concept will be shown at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show due in less than two weeks.
