Lotus Evora Sport 410 adds power, slashes weight for Geneva

Joining the Lotus Exige Sport 350 Roadster in Geneva these days is the newly introduced Evora Sport 410.

 

Lotus took the Evora 400 to the gym and made it lose 154 lbs (70 kg), so now this new addition to the range weighs just 2,921 lbs (1,325 kg). Besides shaving off weight, the performance car has also gained more power as it brings an extra 10 hp compared to the regular Evora 400. This means Lotus was able to upgrade the 3.5-liter V6 to 410 hp (306 kW) available at 7,000 rpm while the maximum torque of 302 pound-feet (410 newton meters) comes in at 3,500 rpm.

 

Purists will be glad to hear the Evora Sport 410 is fitted as standard with a six-speed manual gearbox which enables the car to hit 62 mph (100 kph) in 4.2 seconds. An optional automatic transmission is available and will slash 0.1 seconds from the sprint time, but on the other hand top speed drops from the manual’s 186 mph (300 kph) to 174 mph (280 kph.)

 

Only 150 units will be assembled each year and sales are programmed to begin in June, with the US-Spec Evora Sport 410 set to arrive later this year.
