奔驰计划在今年10月初举行的巴黎车展发布其皮卡概念版车型。虽然奔驰去年宣布，其首款皮卡量产版将于2020年上市。不过，奔驰商用车业务负责人莫宁伟(Volker Mornhinweg)还透露，作为大众Amarok皮卡的竞争车型，奔驰皮卡（目前暂且成为X级车型）将于明年底上市。该车将采用日产Navara提供的技术，包括底盘和全驱系统。预计该车将搭载四缸和六缸汽油和柴油引擎，而非Navara搭载的2.3升涡轮柴油引擎。搭配手动和自动变速器。这款车将提供三种车型，其中入门级车型针对传统卡车消费者，而顶级款针对高端市场，采用豪华内装。

 

Mercedes pickup rumored for Paris debut

Mercedes-Benz could preview its first ever pickup model with a concept, rumored to receive an official unveiling during the Paris Motor Show in October.

 

Nearly a year ago, Mercedes made the official announcement it will launch its first ever pickup by the end of the decade and now it seems the German manufacturer will offer a first glimpse at the model during this year’s auto show in Paris, scheduled for the beginning of October. The information comes from AutoExpress, citing unnamed sources within the company saying a pickup concept will be shown “near the end of the year.”

 

Mercedes-Benz vans CEO Volker Mornhinweg also told the magazine the Volkswagen Amarok-rivalling pickup, tentatively called the X Class, will reach the market by the end of 2017.

 

While being a completely new development for the German brand, the pickup will hide Nissan Navara-sourced technologies, including chassis and all-wheel drive system. We believe Mercedes will use some additional four- and six-cylinder petrol and diesel engines other than the 2.3-liter turbodiesel of the Japanese model. Both manual and automatic transmissions are expected.

 

The manufacturer will offer the model to customers in three trim levels with entry-level variants aimed at traditional truck buyers. The range-topping versions on the other hand will reportedly have an upscale interior with plush touches.
