Nissan Tiida is redesigned Pulsar in Beijing
Nissan has expanded its portfolio in China with the introduction of the new Tiida that was revealed during the 2016 Beijing Motor Show.
Basically a redesigned version of the Pulsar, the vehicle features a new front fascia, similar to the one in the Maxima sedan. The V-Motion grille is flanked by sweptback headlights with integrated LED daytime running lights, while a reshaped bumper completes the look of the front end.
The interior of the car is virtually unchanged compared to its European sibling, which means range-topping models are getting heated leather seats, a dual-zone automatic climate control, an infotainment system with a seven-inch display on the center console, and a multifunctional steering wheel.
Powering the Tiida in China will be a 1.6-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine – the only motor that will be offered in the country. Equipped with a start-stop system and mated to an “improved” continuously variable transmission, the unit returns 44.3 miles per gallon (5.3 liters per 100 kilometers) on average.
Promoted in China by the professional basketball player Jianlian Yi, the Tiida comes nicely equipped with a variety of safety systems, including forward emergency braking, lane departure warning, and blind spot warning.
