Mercedes C Class facelift spied for the first time

The Mercedes C Class is only a couple of years old but that hasn't stopped the company from working on a facelifted variant.

 

Recently caught undergoing testing, this particular prototype is in the early stages of development as the only noticeable change is some modestly revised headlights. The changes are hard to spot but our spy photographer notes the headlights have new LED daylight running lights with two vertical stripes that similar to the ones used on the E Class.

 

Bigger changes are expected later on the model will likely be equipped with new bumpers and revised taillights. The cabin is also expected to have a number of changes including an upgraded infotainment system and possibly a new steering wheel with touch-sensitive controls that respond to swiping movements.

 

Engine options will likely carryover so American consumers can expect to see an assortment of familiar engines including a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 241 horsepower, a biturbo 3.0-liter V6 with 362 hp, and a biturbo 4.0-liter V8 with outputs of 469 hp and 503 hp.

 

The facelifted Mercedes C Class is expected to be launched towards the end of next year so expect to see plenty of new spy photos in the coming months.
