Facelifted Range Rover Sport SVR roars on the Ring

The Range Rover Sport SVR was introduced less than two years ago but that hasn't stopped the company from preparing a minor facelift for the high-performance model.

 

Recently spotted undergoing testing on the Nürburgring, the updated model has a familiar design but adopts a new front bumper with revised air intakes. There doesn't appear to be any other styling tweaks at this point but things could change by the time the production model is introduced.

 

The interior will likely receive a minor refreshing as well so expect to see an updated infotainment system as well as revised trim and upholstery combinations.

 

Bigger changes are expected to occur under the hood as the supercharged 5.0-liter V8 engine is slated to receive a power boost. Nothing is official but previous reports have suggested the Range Rover Sport SVR will become as powerful as the Jaguar F-Type SVR which recently debuted at the Geneva Motor Show. If these rumors pan out, the facelifted model will produce 575 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. This should enable it to accelerate from 0-60 miles per hour in less than 4.5 seconds before hitting a top speed in excess of 162 mph.
