Tesla Model X 75D replaces 70D, gains 17 miles of range

Tesla Motors has upgraded the entry-level Model X by installing a larger battery pack.

 

Tesla Motors is phasing out the base “70D” version in order to replace it with the “75D” model. As the name suggests, the change refers to an increase in battery size from 70 kWh to 75 kWh which in return boosts range from 220 miles (354 kilometers) to 237 miles (381 kilometers).

 

It still packs a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive setup and offers the same performances as its predecessor: 0-60 mph (0-96 kph) in six seconds and a top speed of 130 mph (209 kph). The bigger battery adds $3,000 to the model’s starting price, so a base Model X 75D will set you back $84,200. If you need to carry more than five people, Tesla Motors has an optional six-seat layout available for $3,000 and a seven-seat configuration for $4,000.

 

Those willing to spend more can configure the Model X 75D with other goodies including a towing package ($750), 72-amp charger ($1,500), and Autopilot hardware ($2,500).
