2016 Buick Envision starts at $43k, 2017 model to be $8k cheaper

The Buick Envision was designed to slot between the Encore and Enclave but when the 2016 model arrives at dealerships later this year it will cost more than the Enclave which starts at $39,065.

 

According to Car & Driver, the 2016 Envision will be priced from $42,995. That's pretty expensive but Premium I variant comes nicely equipped with a heated steering wheel, heated front / rear seats as well as leather upholstery. The Chinese-made crossover also boasts an assortment of safety equipment including forward-collision alert, lane-keeping assist, and a blind-spot warning system.

 

Moving up the $45,635 Envision Premium II rewards buyers will additional goodies including HID headlights, a head-up display, and an automatic park assist system. Drivers will also find ventilated front seats and a GPS navigation system.

 

Both the aforementioned models will be powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces an estimated 252 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. The engine will be connected to a six-speed automatic transmission which is paired to a standard all-wheel drive system.

 

Buyers with smaller bank accounts will want to wait until this fall as the 2017 Envision will have a more expansive lineup that includes an entry-level variant that starts at $34,990. Customers will also be able to order two mid-rangers including the $36,795 Envision Preferred and the $38,645 Envision Essence.

 

The lower price tags come with lower performance as the models will be powered by a naturally- aspirated 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that develops 197 hp and 192 lb-ft of torque. The lower-end Envisions will also eschew the standard all-wheel drive system and some of the more luxurious features. However, it should be noted that even the base Envision will come with an automatic climate control system, heated front seats, a rearview camera, and a remote starting system.
