2017 Honda Odyssey spied testing in Ohio
The minivan segment is starting to heat up as the 2017 Honda Odyssey has been spied testing in Ohio.
Set to battle the Chrysler Pacifica, the 2017 Odyssey is heavily disguised but is expected to adopt a new front fascia that draws inspiration from the Pilot. Styling details are hard to make out but we can see the minivan will have angular headlights, door-mounted mirrors, and distinctive C-shaped taillights. The van also appears to eschew the controversial 'lightning bolt' beltline.
Little is known about the van's interior but we can expect an updated infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility. Drivers can also look forward to some new seating innovations and a return of the popular HondaVac vacuum cleaner.
Since the minivan will be based on the same platform that underpins the Pilot, the Odyssey will likely be powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine that produces 280 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. It should be connected to a nine-speed automatic transmission that sends power to the front wheels.
The 2017 Honda Odyssey is expected to be introduced later this year so look for a possible debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
