2017 Subaru Legacy Sport & Outback Touring unveiled

Subaru has introduced the 2017 Legacy Sport and Outback Touring.

 

First up, the Legacy Sport features a modestly revised exterior with a dark gray grille and special fog lights that are set in a gloss black housing. The model also features additional chrome trim, silver mirror caps, and new 18-inch alloy wheels.

 

The unique styling continues in the cabin as designers installed two-tone cloth seats, blue contrast stitching, and faux carbon fiber trim. Drivers will also find piano black accents and a Starlink infotainment system with a seven-inch display.

 

Power is provided by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder boxer engine that produces 175 horsepower and 174 pound-feet of torque. It is connected to a Lineartronic continuously variable transmission and a standard all-wheel-drive system.

 

The Outback Touring goes in a slightly different direction as it is a range-topping model that boasts a dark gray grille, silver roof rails, and 18-inch alloy wheels with dark gray accents.

 

The upscale styling continues in the interior as there's perforated Java Brown leather upholstery, ivory contrast stitching, and woodgrain trim. Other highlights include piano black accents and a 7.0-inch Starlink infotainment system with GPS navigation.

 

Under the hood, two different engines will be available. The entry-level 2.5-liter four-cylinder produces 175 hp, while the optional 3.6-liter six-cylinder develops 256 hp.

 

Both models will go on sale this summer and pricing will be announced closer to launch.
