Take a look inside the 2018 Porsche Cayenne

Spy photographers have been catching Porsche testing the 2018 Cayenne for months, but a new batch of pictures has given us the first look inside the brand’s next-generation luxury crossover. The company also continues to add new parts to the body.

 

Inside, the Cayenne reminds us a lot of what Porsche is doing with the next-gen Panamera. The high-performance CUV retains an analog tachometer in the center of the instrument panel, but a digital display is at least to the left of it – likely on both sides. A large infotainment screen dominates the center stack. Our spies estimate it measures at least 12 inches and possibly even more. The center console also appears to have an array of capacitive buttons like the Panamera. On the sedan, the switches seem to be floating on the trim, but here silver sections show occupants where to press.

 

On the outside, take a good look at this Cayenne’s rump, specifically the taillights. This is the first opportunity to see what are likely the production units. They look similar to the current model, but with more of a 3D effect. The test models in previous spy photos have worn cladding to hide the parts.

 

We might spy the 2018 Cayenne a few more times before its launch because the new CUV doesn’t debut until the second half of 2017. Once on sale, the model will share its lighter platform with Volkswagen Group siblings like the latest Audi Q7 and Bentley Bentayga. The engine range will comprise Porsche’s latest turbocharged V6 and V8 powertrains, plus diesel and hybrid options.
