2014-'16 Infiniti Q50 Recalled for Steering Problem

Infiniti is recalling approximately 28,100 2014-'16 Infiniti Q50 sedans for a problem with the Direct Adaptive Steering.

 

"In certain rare circumstances, just after starting the vehicle, a software issue in the Direct Adaptive Steering system's electronic control unit can lead to a lack of steering responsiveness and change in turning radius," wrote Kyle Bazemore, an Infiniti spokesman in response to a query from Edmunds on Thursday.

 

Direct Adaptive Steering allows for partial autonomous driving.

 

Bazemore said he could not provide information at this point about any injuries or crashes linked to the recall.

 

This is part of a larger global recall of 60,000 Q50 cars.

 

Infiniti dealers will reprogram the system's electronic control unit. The recall is expected to begin in June.
