Maserati Quattroporte undergoes restyling for mid-life cycle
Maserati has introduced an updated version of its Quattroporte sedan. The latest Quattroporte features a restyled exterior and a freshened interior.
Although not a radical mid-cycle update, the new Quattroporte does get a few new exterior design cues, including a new bumper design, revised grille and matte black accents. The new Quattroporte also uses an electronically adjustable Air Shutter in its front grille, which Maserati says improves the sedan's aerodynamics by 10 percent.
Inside the Quattroporte gets a new 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The new unit is capable of running both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Maserati has also redesigned the Quattroporte's lower console area to include a rotary dial for volume and function control, as well as a new lid and storage compartment.
On the tech front, the revised Quattroporte gets an optional Advanced Driver Assistance package that includes adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, forward collision warning and emergency braking. A surround-view monitor is also included in the package.
The Quattroporte's engine range carries over, but there have been a few tweaks resulting in more power and higher top speeds. The 3.8L twin-turbocharged V8 in the top-of-the-line GTS model has been tuned to produce 530 horsepower (up from 524), giving the four-door a new top speed of 192mph (+2mph). The 3.0L twin-turbocharged V6 in lesser Quattroporte models has been bumped to 410 horsepower (from 404), resulting in a new top speed of 177mph.
Maserati has not announced U.S. pricing for the updated Quattroporte, which should hit dealers later this year.
