三菱近日发布了一张Ground Tourer概念车趣图，该车将在10月初开幕的巴黎车展首次亮相。该车采用了车厂最新的“Dynamic Shield”设计理念。从趣图看，该车的红色车顶几乎是完全平坦的，与灰色的车身形成鲜明对比。往下几乎看不到传统的车门把手，摄像头替代了传统的后视镜，前大灯和尾灯组都非常细窄，使得整个车辆外观都非常顺滑和富有未来主义风格。预计该车采用超大尺寸轮圈，就像现在的很多概念车那样。而车厢内则采用极简主义不仅，普通按键和旋钮数量非常少。至于动力系统，已经知道该车将搭载插电混动系统，包括一台内燃机引擎和一台电机和电池组。三菱已经表示，该车无论是在赛道还是其他条件下都能应对自如，由此推断，该车将采用四驱系统。从三菱过往的历史看，这些概念车鲜有投产的可能性，但不排除该车的某些设计元素会出现在诸如下一代欧蓝德等其他车型上。

 

Mitsubishi teases Ground Tourer concept for Paris

Through this teaser, Mitsubishi is telling the whole world it has plans to unveil a new SUV concept at the Paris Motor Show in early October. It’s going to serve as a follow-up to the XR PHEV II and eX concepts revealed last year and will feature the company’s latest take on the ‘Dynamic Shield’ design philosophy.

 

The attached teaser image reveals an almost flat roofline finished in red to contrast the grey body which appears to lack conventional door handles. Cameras have replaced the side mirrors and we notice the headlights and taillights are slender to make the SUV concept appear sleek and futuristic. Expect to see oversized wheels as it’s the case with most of today’s concepts, while inside the cabin there’s likely a minimalist layout with very few conventional buttons and knobs.

 

There’s no word about what powers the Ground Tourer, but we do know it’s a plug-in hybrid electric (PHEV) vehicle which means that it combines a combustion engine with an electric motor and a battery pack. Since Mitsu mentions the SUV “will offer effortless travel both on and off the beaten track whatever the driving conditions,” it probably means the vehicle will have a four-wheel-drive setup.

 

If history has taught us anything, it's that Mitsubishi's concepts rarely make it to the assembly line, so it seems unlikely the concept will morph into a production version. That being said, perhaps some of the concept's design cues will rub off on the next-gen Outlander set to arrive in the years to come.
