Now a standalone premium brand, Genesis is getting ready to take orders in United States for the G80, formerly known as the Hyundai Genesis. Compared to the previous model year, price is up by $2,650, which means you will have to pay $41,400 (plus $950 destination charges). The difference is justifiable to some extent since the 2017 G80 has more standard equipment, with focus being on safety kit.

 

You’ll be getting systems such as automatic emergency braking, blind spot detection (with rear cross-traffic alert), lane keep assist, lane departure warning, and high beam assist without having to pay more. In addition, the Genesis G80 features standard adaptive cruise control (with stop/start), nine airbags, 8-inch touchscreen, a rearview camera, and an electronic parking brake with auto hold.

 

In terms of engines, buyers get to pick from a 3.8-liter V6 that can deliver its 311 horsepower to the rear axle or to an all-wheel-drive layout for an additional $2,500. If you need more power, Genesis also has a 5.0-liter V8 with 420 hp, but keep in mind the model fitted with the beefier engine is RWD-only and starts at $54,550 (without destination charges).
