Toyota raises prices for 86, Corolla, Corolla iM

Toyota has announced plans to increase prices for three nameplates entering the 2017 model year.

The biggest jump is tied to the Toyota 86, formerly known as the Scion FR-S. The mid-cycle update delivers revised styling, upgraded interior materials and a retuned engine. The extra horsepower is limited to the manual version, which now fetches $27,120 (including $865 freight) -- an increase of $950, or 3.8 percent, over the 2016 model year.

 

The Corolla has also been updated for 2017, celebrating the model's 50th anniversary with a few aesthetic tweaks and new safety systems. The entry-level L trim has been adjusted upward by $600 to $19,365, while the top XLE and XSE packages have been discounted by $370 and $445, respectively.

 

The Corolla iM hatchback is also set for a price bump following its rebranding from the Scion iM. The six-speed manual edition now commands $19,615, while the CVT variant starts at $20,355.

 

The 2017 Toyota 86 and Corolla iM will arrive in showrooms this month, while the Corolla is slated to launch in early September.
