本田近日提交了首个十一速自动变速器专利。这项专利称，十一速变速器基本上是双离合器自动变速器的改进版，它利用第三个离合器来降低扭矩损失。该变速器能过缩短换挡之间的时间间隔，使得换挡会更加平稳、效率更高。新增加的档位也可以提升燃油经济性。目前还不知道究竟哪款车型将配备十一速变速器，也不知道该变速器何时与公众见面。虽然本田向日本专利局递交了该项专利，但并不意味着该变速器将投产。

Honda patents 11-speed triple-clutch transmission

A patent application recently filed in Japan suggests Honda could introduce the auto industry's first-ever 11-speed automatic transmission.

 

The application explains the 11-speed transmission is essentially an evolution of a dual-clutch automatic transmission that uses a third clutch to reduce torque loss. In simpler terms, a triple-clutch transmission will shift even faster than a dual-clutch and provide quicker acceleration times. The extra gears also promise to improve efficiency.

 

Honda hasn't commented on the patent application, so we don't know which model(s) the 11-speed will power, or when it will arrive in showrooms. Automakers apply for patents on a regular basis, and the fact that the 11-speed showed up in Japan's Patent Office doesn't guarantee that it will ever make the transition to production.
