2017 Nissan Sentra SR Turbo starts at $22,825

Nissan is outlining pricing for the 2017 Sentra lineup, including the recently announced SR Turbo. The new range-topping model goes on sale in October and costs $22,825 for both the six-speed manual and CVT.

 

The SR Turbo gets a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 188 horsepower (140 kilowatts) and 177 pound-feet (240 newton-meter) of torque. The engine is 50-percent more powerful than the Sentra’s naturally aspirated option. The new model should handle better too thanks to stiffer front springs and an Active Understeer Control system.

 

The model has the same sporty look as the naturally aspirated SR trim, including larger side sills and a trunk lip spoiler. The turbocharged Sentra gets a different design for the 17-inch wheels, though.

 

For $2,590, customers can add the SR Turbo Premium Package. Checking this option box gets buyers safety tech, like rear cross traffic alert and blind sport warning. There’s also a much nicer interior thanks to the addition of leather seats, an eight-speaker stereo, and an auto-dimming mirror. A 5.8-inch infotainment system with navigation is among the package’s helpful improvements, too.
