Maserati brings updated Ghibli and Quattroporte to Paris

Maserati is keeping its four-door models fresh at the 2016 Paris Motor Show by publicly showing the refreshed 2017 Quattroporte and debuting new tech for the 2017 Ghibli. Base versions of both sedans now make a little more power, too.

Maserati bumps up the output from the less-powerful version of the 3.0-liter biturbo V6 in both sedans. It now makes 350 horsepower (257 kW) – an increase of 20 hp (15 kW). On the Quattroporte, the upgrade increases the top speed to 168 miles per hour (270 kilometers per hour), and it can accelerate to 62 mph (100 kph) in 5.5 seconds. Maserati reports the improved engine gets the Ghibli to 166 mph (267 kph) and to 62 mph (100 kph) in 5.5 seconds.

Both Maseratis have a restyled dashboard that features an 8.4-inch infotainment system with multi-touch support. The software supports both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone mirroring. The sedans are quieter inside too thanks to more noise insulation.

Customers can also order the pair with a new suite of safety features. The Advanced Driver Assistance System should make being behind the wheel of these luxury sedans easier by bundling together adaptive cruise control, blind spot alert, lane departure warning, and forward collision warning with brake assist. For some extra help when doing tight maneuvers, the Surround View Camera is an additional option.
