Ssangyong LIV-2 SUV Paris concept revealed showing new design language
Following the online preview from earlier this month, Ssangyong has released official details and photos of its LIV-2 SUV concept, making its world premiere at the 2016 Paris Motor Show.
Featuring a bold design, the concept shares most of its lines with the LIV-1, but replaces some of the key components, such as the radiator grille. Speaking of which, it has a similar shape with the one found on the Tivoli, making a connection between the concept and the other production models of the brand.
The interior, as revealed before, comes with a four-seat layout - with four individual seats with massaging function at the touch of a button. The concept places the emphasis on the rear seat passengers, according to Ssangyong, who are afforded a fully connected center console. Three displays, a 9.2-inch monitor in the center console, and a 10.1-inch monitor in each headrest, provides control of all in-car features, including wi-fi mirroring for devices, Apple CarPlay, and Google Android Auto.
The LIV-2 is powered by a 2.2-liter diesel engine with a 2,000-bar common rail direct injection system. It offers 310 pound-feet (420 Newton meters) of torque at low 1,500 rpm, channeled to all four wheels through a Mercedes-Benz-sourced seven-speed automatic gearbox, delivering “a fun-driving experience with optimal performance and efficiency.”
Of course, the LIV-2 comes equipped with some of the latest safety and assistance systems, such as an advanced emergency braking system (AEBS), traffic safety assist (TSA), and high beam assistance (HBA).A production version of the study, the automaker says, will be launched next year.
