大众最近发布的第二代途观与高尔夫GTI共享动力系统，这台2.0升涡轮引擎功率162千瓦/220马力，扭矩350牛米。在它的带动下，新车百公里加速时间6.5秒，最高时速220公里。而最近谍照记者在纽伯格林赛道拍到了疑是途观R高性能版车型的测试照片。这辆原型车看起来与R-Line顶级款非常接近，但车尾采用了类似高尔夫R的四排气尾管。虽然这并不意味着这款车就是R版本，但至少告诉我们大众准备推出更高性能版本。如果该车真实R版本，预计将与高尔夫R共享动力系统。后者采用全轮驱动，搭载一台2.0升TSI引擎，功率224千瓦/300马力，但改款车功率会进一步提升。如果大众推出途观R，其功率将与高尔夫R一样。如果这款车真的存在，那也至少要等到明年日内瓦车展才能亮相，或者选择在9月的法兰克福车展发布这款车。

Is Volkswagen actually making a Tiguan R?
Now in its second generation, the Tiguan has already been blessed with Golf GTI power: a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine with 220 hp (162 kW) and 258 lb-ft (350 Nm). It’s enough muscle to grant the sporty crossover with a sprint to 62 mph (100 kph) from a standstill in a decent six and a half seconds before maxing out at 136 mph (220 kph). Should you want an even quicker gasoline model, the attached spy shots from the Nürburgring might indicate there’s going to be a flagship R version at some point in the future.

The prototype looks pretty much like the top-spec R-Line model, but at the back it is rocking quad exhaust tips similar to those of the Golf R. That doesn’t necessarily mean the Tiguan will get the R treatment, but it could be a sign VW is preparing a beefier version of its compact crossover.

If this is indeed a taste of things to come as far as a new Tiguan range topper, it will likely have the same amount of power as the Golf R. The AWD-only hatch and wagon currently have 300 hp (224 kW) from a 2.0 TSI engine, but the inbound facelift will likely bring a bump in output. If the Tiguan R will be launched, it would only make sense to have the same amount of power as the revised Golf R seeing as how the GTI versions of the two models are a perfect match.

Even if the Tiguan R is on the agenda, we will probably have to wait until at least March 2017 to see it in Geneva, unless VW will decide to introduce the high-performance crossover in September at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
