A year after receiving its U.S. debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show, the 2017 Cadillac CT6 Plug-In Hybrid is getting ready for a local market launch programmed to take place next spring.

 

Cadillac estimates the 18.4 kWh lithium-ion battery pack mounted between the rear seats and trunk will have enough juice for as much as 30 miles (48 kilometers) of electric range in the real world while the total driving range when running as a hybrid is going to stand at more than 400 miles (643 km).

 

With an expected rating of 65 MPGe and a sprint from a standstill to 60 mph (96 kph) in just 5.2 seconds before topping out at 150 mph (241 kph). As a matter of fact, Cadillac saying it’s just about as fast as V6-powered models from competitors and at the same time it is approximately twice as frugal.

 

As a reminder, the first-ever hybridized CT6 is motivated by a turbocharged 2.0-liter, four-cylinder gasoline engine working together with two 100-hp electric motors to deliver a combined output of 335 horsepower (250 kilowatts) and 432 pound-feet (586 Newton-meters) of torque.

 

When it will go on sale in the spring, the model is going to carry a starting price of $75,095 (excluding $995 destination charges) before any applicable incentives.
