Genesis G80 Sport powers into L.A. with 365-hp V6
The Genesis brand is alive and well at the 2016 LA Auto Show. Piggybacking off the success of the new G80 sedan, the company has added a host of enhancements to its standard model, revealing a performance-oriented new G80 3.3T Sport.

Up front, a revised fascia displays the Sport’s more aggressive intentions. A copper-colored trim surrounds a dark chrome grille and distinguishes it from the base model, as do the added angles to the bumper and additional vents. New 19-inch dark alloy wheels have also been fitted to keep the sporty theme throughout.

Power comes courtesy of a 3.3-liter biturbo V6 that produces a hefty 365 horsepower (272 kilowatts) and 277 pound-feet (376 newton-meters) of torque. The new engine is paired to a sport-tuned version of the already available eight-speed automatic transmission, and the addition of augmented rear brakes with ventilated rear discs assures premium stopping power.

Leather sport seats and a leather-coated sport steering wheel pair with aluminum pedals, while features like a microfiber suede headliner, a matte wood finish, and a carbon fiber trim spans throughout the cabin and the range. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, as well as wireless charging capabilities are also available.

Alongside the new G80 Sport, Genesis will continue to offer the 5.0-liter V8 and 3.8-liter V6 option to buyers. Both will feature an updated cabin and minor exterior upgrades when they debut in Los Angeles. The 2018 Genesis G80 will be available to buyers early in 2017.
