Mercedes-Maybach S650 Cabriolet is a luxed-up, limited-edition S65
Blending V12 AMG power with Maybach luxury in Los Angeles, the first cabriolet from the Mercedes-Maybach brand started off as a soft-top S65 before getting pampered with the finest materials and special touches Daimler has to offer.

To differentiate it from the regular S65 Cabriolet, the Maybach-branded special edition comes with additional chrome details on the body, including on the newly redesigned front bumper. The compulsory Maybach emblem adorns the vehicle’s fenders, while shiny forged 20-inch wheels further set it apart from the standard model.

As with the Maybach-branded S600 Sedan, most of the changes have occurred inside the cabin to make it even plushier. In this case, the leather-covered cabin draws inspiration from the 2013 Concept S-Class Coupe with a “flowing lines” theme for the seats wrapped in a waterfall-like upholstery by making use of progressive perforations. Mercedes went the extra mile by adding outer diamond quilting on the seat side bolsters and created bespoke trim on the door panels and instrument panel in a bid to make it look and feel more special.

Only 300 cars are going to be made and the model’s limited availability will be denoted by the chrome-plated “1 of 300” lettering on the cup holder.

As with the Mercedes-AMG S65 Cabriolet, the Maybach S650 is powered by a biturbo 6.0-liter V12 engine with 621 hp and 738 lb-ft of torque. It’s enough AMG muscle to allow the luxurious cabrio reach 60 mph (96 kph) from a standstill in four seconds and top out at an electronically-capped 155 mph (250 kph).

Pricing details have not been disclosed, but as you would imagine the Maybach treatment will command a serious premium over the standard version available in the U.S. from an already exorbitant $247,900 MSRP.
