Mitsubishi has debuted the eX Concept, a futuristic compact crossover powered by a next-generation electric powertrain.
The eX integrates a new battery with higher energy density, allowing the crossover to cruise for up to 249 miles on a single charge. Dual compact motors provide 94 horsepower to both the front and rear wheels, for a combined output of 188 ponies.
The twin-motor drivetrain employs Mitsubishi's S-AWC four-wheel-drive system, using brakes to control the front wheels and a transfer mechanism to vary the torque split between the rear wheels.
