宝马近日在美国发布了基于5系G30家族的首款M550i xDrive，在真正的5系旗舰级车型M5上市之前，该车是目前最快的5系车型。这款高性能轿车标配全轮驱动，它搭载一台4.4升V8双涡轮引擎，功率456马力@5500转/分，扭矩480磅-英尺（约合650牛米）@1800转/分。与引擎搭配的是一台八速自动变速器。这款车0-96公里/小时加速时间不到4秒，比老款M5快至少0.2秒，不过它的最高时速经过电子限速后仍为250公里。该车的车身高度比其他版本降低了10毫米，标配19英寸轮圈，也可选装20英寸轮圈，无论19还是20英寸轮圈均采用铈灰色哑光金属漆涂装。另外在双肾格栅、前散热孔和侧后视镜盖也采用相同颜色涂装。而车窗周围则采用高亮度Shadow Line装饰。为了彰显该车与其他版本的不同，宝马为其配备了蓝色的M Sport刹车卡钳，同时在车身内外都带有M标志。车尾则采用M Sport四排气尾管，它可以发出“毫无疑问且令人兴奋的宝马M版本声浪”。车门侧踏板则配备发光的“M550i xDrive”字样，车厢内采用达科塔真皮内饰和蓝色缝线，也可选装纳帕真皮。另外还提供了M方向盘，踏板和地毯。宝马没有公布该车价格，预计将在明年春季该车临近上市时公布。

 

2017 BMW M550i xDrive lands in U.S. as quickest 5 Series ever

The first-ever M550i xDrive is going to serve as the temporary range topper in the 5 Series G30 family until the arrival of the flagship M5. As the name implies, the high-performance sedan comes as standard with all-wheel drive and is powered by the familiar biturbo 4.4-liter V8. In this specification, the engine pumps out 456 horsepower at 5,500 rpm and a peak torque of 480 lb-ft available from 1,800 rpm channeled to both axles through an eight-speed automatic transmission.

 

Thanks to a beefy V8 engine and a substantial weight loss brought by the CLAR platform, the new 5 Series in the hot-flavored M550i xDrive edition will cover the 0-60 mph sprint in less than four seconds, so it’s going to be at least two tenths of a second faster than the outgoing M5. Unsurprisingly, BMW is going to install an electronic top speed limiter that will kick in at 155 mph.

 

It sits 0.4 inches (10 millimeters) lower than the lesser models thanks to the adaptive sport suspension and can be had with either standard 19-inch wheels or with an optional 20-inch set, both featuring a Cerium Grey metallic matte finish. Similar accents are noticeable on the kidney grille, front air vents, and on the side mirror caps, while the high-gloss Shadow Line trim around the windows is also part of the package.

 

To further set it apart from the others, BMW is painting the M Sport brake calipers in blue and is also slapping on M badges both inside and out to let everyone know it’s not an ordinary 5 Series. At the back, there’s an M Sport exhaust system with quad pipes delivering an “unmistakable and exciting BMW M roar.”

 

Further upgrades include the illuminated “M550i xDrive” inscription on the door sills and the choice of either standard Black Dakota leather with blue stitching or optional Nappa leather. Rounding off the tweaks are other M-flavored goodies, such as the steering wheel, pedals, and floor mats.

 

Pricing details are not available at this point, but BMW says an announcement is going to be made closer to the model’s U.S. launch scheduled to take place in spring 2017.
