Subaru reveals BRZ tS for US market
Subaru has officially introduced the BRZ tS for the US market, matching the 'tuned by STI' (but not STI-badged) package that debuted in Japan two years ago.
The tS focuses on handling and steering enhancements rather than more power. STI engineers retuned the front and rear Sachs dampers and changed the spring rates. Flexible V-braces can be found in the engine compartment.
The tS is the first BRZ to be available with 18-inch wheels, also designed by STI and mounted with 215/40 Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires for improved grip and quicker turn-in. Brembo brakes help slow down the car in a hurry.
The exterior has a more aggressive appearance with an exclusive STI carbon fiber rear spoiler. Drivers can manually adjust the spoiler to dial in rear downforce. STI engineers also created front, rear and side underspoilers for improved high-speed airflow.
The BRZ tS will be available in US showrooms early next year. It will be limited to just 500 examples.
