下一代奔驰G级已经接近量产，记者最近拍到了该车最新谍照，显示新车采用了LED前大灯。新一代G级车扔保留了现行版的方正造型，但设计师对车辆进行了一些高科技改装，提升了车辆的现代感。虽然圆形大灯看起来还是传统造型，但中心部分是矩形的LED照明系统。这部分很显然是用来照射路面的，而周围一圈是LED日间行驶灯仍是经典造型。而转向灯仍位于引擎盖上。而在车尾，可以看到原来的椭圆形排气尾管被新的支架形设计所替代。而中间的白色部分很可能是倒车灯。虽然新车外观造型基本上与老款车一样，但它的内部结构是全新的。据传，新车重量降低了400公斤。新款G63还将搭载奔驰的4.0升V8双涡轮引擎以替代现行版搭载的5.5升V8双涡轮引擎。而顶级款G65还将搭载6.0升V12引擎。奔驰设计主管瓦格纳透露，新车将在不久的将来发布。预计该车将在9月的法兰克福车展亮相。而长轴距和皮卡版本则将晚些时候发布。

Next Mercedes-Benz G-Class Spied With Its LED Headlights Shining

The next-generation Mercedes-Benz G-Class is nearing production, and a new spy video offers a look at the premium SUV’s LED lights.

The new G-Class retains the current model’s venerable look, but Mercedes’ designers incorporate some high-tech tweaks for modernizing the vehicle’s appearance. Circular crevices still look like the traditional headlights but this clip reveals rectangular LEDs that take up the center section. Conceivably these units could illuminate the road, and a ring of LED running lights could continue the classic appearance. Turn signals continue to be on top of the hood.

At the rear, the next-gen G-Class switches from the current oval-shaped taillights to a new bracket-like design for them. The white section in the center would likely function as the backup lights.

While Mercedes keeps the body for the next G-Class, the company overhauls the SUV’s underpinnings. Rumors suggest the mechanical tweaks cut pare off a massive 882 pounds (400 kilograms) off the vehicle. This sounds unbelievable. However, the German automaker hasn’t massively changed the G-Class since 1990, and the auto industry has evolved a lot since then.

The new G-Class will make further use of Mercedes’ 4.0-liter biturbo V8 by putting it into the next-gen G63 to replace the current biturbo 5.5-liter V8. The 6.0-liter biturbo V12 will continue to top the range in the G65.

Spy shots of the future G-Class have been cropping up since summer 2016. Development should be over soon, though, because Mercedes chief designer Gorden Wagener claims a reveal is set for the “not too distant future.” Given his hint, look for the posh off-roader to arrive at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September. Long-wheelbase and pickup versions should arrive later.
