2018 Nissan Leaf Is Lower, More Aerodynamic For Improved Range
Nissan has released a new teaser image of its next-generation Leaf, along with a few new details about the zero-emissions electric vehicle.

The teaser images shows the new Leaf in profile, revealing a familiar hatchback shape that looks a little more streamline. In fact, Nissan says it placed a heavy emphasis on aerodynamics with the new Leaf, using inspiration from airplane wings to design the hatchback's body.

Despite mimicking an an airplane wing, Nissan says the new Leaf actually has zero lift at higher speeds. That should help with the compact's stability on the highway. The new Leaf is also lower than its predecessor and has special design elements intended to reduce the effects of strong crosswinds.

Nissan will likely dish out a few more details on the new Leaf before unveiling it formally in Japan on September 6.
