Mazda3 gets more standard safety tech for 2018
Mazda is making the Mazda3 safer for the 2018 model year.

Every member of the 3 lineup now comes standard with Smart City Brake Support, which automatically applies the brakes if it detects a collision is imminent and the driver is not reacting. Built around a laser sensor integrated into the windshield, Smart City Brake Support is active at speeds of up to 20 mph.
The mid-range Mazda3 Touring now comes standard with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine rated at 184 horsepower. Stepping up to the range-topping Grand Touring trim brings self-leveling bi-LED headlights, LED tail lights, and LED daytime running lights.

The 2018 Mazda Mazda3 sedan starts at $18,095 before a mandatory $875 destination charge is factored in. That figure represents a $250 increase over the outgoing 2017 model. The Touring trim is priced at $20,090, meaning it's actually cheaper than last year, and the Grand Touring price tag is unchanged at $23,145.
