Mazda CX-9 gets more standard equipment, higher price for 2018

Mazda has revised its CX-9 packages and pricing for the 2018 model year.

The changes include more features across all trim levels, expanding the list of standard safety equipment with automatic low-speed emergency braking, blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert.

The CX-9 is also the latest model to benefit from Mazda's G-Vectoring system, which modulates engine torque based on steering and throttle inputs to improve vehicle dynamics in corners.

The Japanese automaker says the second seating row has been revised for greater comfort and easier access to the third row, while sound insulation has been increased for reduced road noise.

The revisions are tied to a higher base MSRP, bringing the entry price up to $33,070 (including $940 freight). Higher trim levels, including the Grand Touring and Signature packages that account for 55 percent of sales, remain unchanged.
