Range Rover SV Coupe Is An Ultra-Expensive Two-Door SUV
The latest SUV derivative from Land Rover comes in the form of the Range Rover SV Coupe. The limited-edition model is a two-door version of the luxurious Range Rover, with frameless windows and blacked-out pillars giving it a sporty floating-roof effect.
Debuting at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show, the SV Coupe is a product of the Special Vehicle Operations department. All of its body panels aside from the hood and liftgate are changed from a standard Range Rover, and it will be hand-assembled at the SVO Technical Center.
The standard air suspension rides 0.31 inch lower than regular Range Rovers; it’s adjustable to offer lower or higher ride heights depending on the driving situation. Wheel choices range from 21 to 23 inches in diameter, making this the first Range Rover to ever offer 23s from the factory.
As an earlier teaser photo had indicated, the inside of the SV Coupe will be a lovely place to spend time, with four different colorways available, with heated and cooled 20-way front seats and 10-way power rear seats. A new-to-Range-Rover Nautica veneer, composed of walnut and sycamore woods fused together, is available for covering the cargo floor, steering wheel, center console, and dashboard. Standard technologies include the InControl Touch Pro Duo dual-screen infotainment screen, a head-up display, and a 23-speaker Meridian sound system.
In keeping with its coupe-like silhouette and lowered suspension, SVO has given the Range Rover SV Coupe a dose of sportiness underhood. The supercharged 5.0-liter V8 has been upgraded to produce 557 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque, which rockets the SUV to 60 miles per hour in 5.0 seconds and on to a top speed of 165 mph.
Of course, this is a Range Rover, so off-road capability has not been sacrificed just to offer up some fresh style. It has a wading depth of 35.4 inches and can tow 7,716 pounds, after all; four-wheel drive with Range Rover’s signature Terrain Response 2 control, a locking rear differential, and a two-speed transfer case are all standard.
