宝马8虽然还没有上市销售，但车厂已经开始开发其敞篷车版本。宝马近日发布了8系敞篷车趣图，这次展示的是车辆在内华达拉斯维加斯和加州死谷进行敞篷测试时的情景。将8系敞篷车拿到沙漠进行测试可以让宝马工程师测试其在炎热气候下的性能表现。死谷的气温能达到摄氏50度，可以确保车厢内的尖端电子设备可以经受住高温环境的考验。8系敞篷车的外观看起来与轿跑车一样，只是该车采用的是织物软顶。车顶设计也模仿硬顶车顺滑的造型，但仍保持了富有吸引力的美感。车辆内装也没有区别。该车动力系统预计将与硬顶版共享，美版车型降低安装4.4升V8双涡轮增压引擎，功率390千瓦/523马力，扭矩750牛米，搭配八速自动变速器和全轮驱动。欧版则搭载3.0升直列六缸双涡轮引擎，功率235千瓦/315马力，扭矩680牛米。宝马已经证实8系敞篷车将于明年发布，此外还有四门版的Gran Coupe。预计量产版将在年底前亮相。这两款车还将有M版车型，将于明年底发布。
BMW Teases 8 Series Convertible Soaking Up Sun In Desert Testing
The new BMW 8 Series isn't even on sale yet, but the Bavarian brand is hard at work developing the convertible version. In a new teaser, the company shows off a camouflaged test mule for the droptop during development in Las Vegas, Nevada, and Death Valley, California.
Taking the 8 Series Convertible into the desert lets BMW engineers perform a hot-weather torture test on their new machine. Temperatures in Death Valley can reach over 122 degrees Fahrenheit (50 degrees Celsius), and the technicians leave the car with the top down for hours in this extreme heat to make sure the cabin's sophisticated electronics can take the punishment.
The 8 Series Convertible looks identical to its coupe counterpart, except for its folding fabric top. The roofline doesn't quite copy the hardtop's sleek shape, but it still maintains an attractive aesthetic. Inside, the two models are indistinguishable, too. Under the hood, expect the Convertible to share its powertrain with the 8 Series hardtop. In the United States, buyers would get a twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 making 523 horsepower (390 kilowatts) and 553 pound-feet (750 Newton-meters). The only available drivetrain would combine an eight-speed automatic and all-wheel drive. Europeans would also have the option of a twin-turbo 3.0-liter inline-six with 315 hp (235 kilowatts) and 502 lb-ft (680 Nm) of torque.
BMW has already confirmed the 8 Series Convertible's arrival in 2019, in addition to the four-door Gran Coupe. It's possible we could see a debut of the production version before the end of the year, though. Both vehicles are getting M versions in late 2019, too.
