最近谍照记者在德国拍到了一辆采用中置引擎的雪佛兰跑车，该车的伪装比先前看到的更少。另外与先前在通用测试场拍到的不同的是，这辆测试车采用的是量产版车身。这也是迄今看到的中置引擎跑车中车身比例最佳的车型。原来鹅卵石形的车身侧面已经不见了，替代它的是前后集成空力套装。这辆车看起来就像经过黑客加工过的戴托纳原型车。通用一直对其中置引擎车型三缄其口，或许只有等到新车发布时才能公布细节。该车动力系统很可能是一台V8引擎，排量6.2升，功率从343千瓦/460马力起跳，直至双涡轮增压的634千瓦/850马力。不过，从该车非常低调的外观判断，其搭载的是自然进气引擎。预计该车将于明年9月投产。

 

Mid-Engined Chevy Corvette Caught In Most Revealing Spy Shots Yet

As America awoke to its final summer holiday, spies in Germany were striking gold. Behold, GM's super-secret mid-engine Corvette project, wearing significantly less of a disguise than any seen previously. It's a Labor Day miracle!

 

We've seen our fair share of mid-engine mules running around GM's proving grounds, but this is the first time we've seen anything resembling production-like bodywork.

 

This is certainly the best look we've gotten at the future supercar's distinctly mid-engine proportions. With the cobbled-together side body extensions gone and what appears to be some properly integrated front and rear aero, this car looks much less like a hackjob repair of an old Daytona prototype.

 

GM has kept very mum on its mid-engine project, and we expect that to remain the case until the time comes for a formal unveiling. As for what’s under that rear engine cover, we can’t say for certain obviously but all the rumors point to a range of V8 engines, starting with a familiar 6.2-liter mill making 460 horsepower (343 kilowatts) and ending with an 850 hp (634 kW) twin-turbo monster. Given the rather modest appearance of this prototype, we’d guess it’s naturally aspirated.

 

The latest word is that production could begin on the new Corvette a year from now, in September 2019.
