Mercedes-Benz reveals 2020 EQC
Mercedes-Benz has finally revealed the 2020 EQC after a lengthy teaser campaign.
The EQC 400 4Matic is the company's first fully electric SUV and the first model to launch under the new EQ sub-brand, which stands for 'Electric Intelligence.'
A dual-motor drivetrain provides 402 horsepower and 564 pound-feet of torque delivered to both axles, with an estimated driving range of 'up to' 200 miles.
Drivers can expect to hit 60 mph from a stop in just 4.9 seconds, eventually topping out at an electronically limited 112 mph.
The EQC presumably has been benchmarked against the Model X 75D, which also carries a 4.9-second zero-to-60 mph time. Mercedes-Benz' range estimate falls short of the 75D's 237 miles, however, despite the EQC's larger 80-kWh battery.
The German automaker has adapted its Mbux multimedia system with various EQ-optimized features, including a new navigation system that considers remaining battery range and shortest charging times.
Production is scheduled to start next year at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Bremen.
