Arriving in showrooms this fall, the compact sedan will start at $17,690 excluding the $895 destination charge.
In other words, the Forte costs $890 more than the 2018 model year. Despite the increase in retail price, Kia offers more standard equipment, even on the entry-level trim. The engine comes in the guise of a 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 147 horsepower, which can be had with a continuously variable transmission.
Opting for the CVT ($900) brings the EPA-rated fuel economy to 35 miles per gallon on the combined cycle. The Forte LX starts at $19,090 and the Forte S comes in at $20,190, with the range-topping Forte EX priced at $21,990. A “stronger competitor than ever in the compact segment” according to Cars Direct, the all-new model comes with 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment.
