最新报道称,捷豹正计划推出一款重量大幅降低的F-Type版本,该车称为“Club Sport”。捷豹目前行驶速度最快的量产车是F-Type R 轿跑车，该车0-60英里/小时（约合96公里）加速时间为4秒，最高时速300公里。不过这一切都将在不久的将来改变，捷豹目前正在开发的Club Sport版本0-60英里/小时加速时间将不到3.5秒。虽然F-Type R轿跑车重量为1665公斤，但Club Sport由于采用更多轻质材料，重量将比它还轻200公斤。该车将采用更具侵略性车身组件和进一步简化的内装以便进一步降低车重。为了能达到1465公斤的车重，捷豹计划为其配备赛车级的碳纤维座椅和车身面板。该车动力系统很可能采用F-Type R的5.0升V8机械增压引擎，功率404千瓦/550马力，扭矩680牛米。虽然捷豹还未最终决定该车将搭载何种引擎，但与F-Type R共享可能性极高，该车可选装碳陶瓷刹车盘，重量比标准钢制刹车盘轻了21公斤。F-Type项目主管Russ Varney对《Motoring》杂志表示，该车如果投产，年产量至少500辆。另外，捷豹设计总监Ian Callum已经证实计划推出比R版本动力更强劲的车型。
Jaguar F-Type Club Sport in the works, could lose 200 kg
A new report indicates Jaguar is planning a significantly lighter version of the F-Type called "Club Sport".
Jaguar's fastest current production car is the F-Type R Coupe with a 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) run in 4 seconds and a limited top speed of 186 mph (300 km/h). That could all change in the near future as the British company is allegedly working on a Club Sport variant that will do the sprint in less than 3.5 seconds.
While the F-Type R Coupe tips the scales at 1,665 kg (3,670 lbs), the Club Sport plans on losing 200 kg (441 lbs) through the use of various lightweight materials. The model is also going to wear a more aggressive body and a stripped out cabin to shave off the excess weight. To achieve the 1,465 kg (3,185 lbs) mark Jaguar plans on installing race-style carbon fiber seats as well as carbon fiber body panels.
Power will likely come from the F-Type R Coupe's supercharged V8 5.0-liter engine which generates 550 HP (404 kW) and 680 Nm (501 lb-ft). A decision regarding engine choice has not been finalized but most likely this will be it since in the R it comes with the option of carbon ceramic brakes which are 21 kg (46 lbs) lighter than their steel counterparts.
F-Type's program director Russ Varney told Motoring such a model would see the light of production day only if built in a series of at least 500 units per year. Moreover, let's not forget the firm's design director Ian Callum already confirmed more powerful versions of the model sitting on top of the "R" version are planned.
