MINI Cooper DeLux headed to New York, up to 56 units will be built

MINI has announced Alex Coyle’s Cooper DeLux has been selected as the winner of the company's Final Test Test Drives contest which asked fans to create a limited edition Cooper.

 

As a result, the Cooper DeLux will debut at the New York Auto Show and will eventually go into production. The special edition will be available to order next week and up to 56 units will be built.

 

There's no word on specification but the original proposal called for the car to have a Midnight Black exterior with chrome accents, Tron-inspired graphics and 18-inch alloy wheels. The model was also equipped with cloth / leatherette seats, the Premium package, the Sport package and the Cold Weather package.

 

According to MINI USA's head of marketing, Tom Salkowsky, “MINI has always been and will continue to be about embracing and engaging our owners and keeping them at the center of our thinking and actions. The Final Test Test Drives program is another example of that engagement and we are thrilled to announce Alex’s winning design as well as thank the other nine owners for their unwavering support and participation.”
