2015 MINI Countryman facelift revealed, debuts in New York

MINI has officially unveiled the 2015 Countryman.

 

Set to debut at the New York Auto Show, the facelifted crossover has a number of updates to ensure the "continued success of the premium compact model."

 

Styling changes are relatively limited but include a revised grille, LED day time running lights and restyled alloy wheels. The model also gains LED fog lights and underbody guards on all-wheel drive variants. Other changes include new customization options and three new exterior colors: Jungle Green metallic, Midnight Grey metallic and Starlight Blue metallic.

 

The subtle modifications continue in the cabin as the model boasts revised instrumentation and chromed switchgear. There's also additional sound deadening material and the latest MINI Connected infotainment system.

 

Engine options carryover but the Countryman S gains an upgraded 1.6-liter turbo that produces 190 bhp (140 kW) and 240 Nm (177 lb-ft) of torque. Thanks to the extra oomph, the model can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 7.5 seconds and hit a top speed of 218 km/h (135 mph).

 

The 2015 MINI Countryman will go on sale in Germany in July.
