2015 Mazda2 spied in Germany

Development work continues on the 2015 Mazda2 as our spies have caught a prototype undergoing testing in Germany.

 

Previewed by the Hazumi concept, the production model has a familiar front fascia with a prominent grille that is flanked by distinctive headlights. We can see an attractive green house and a sportier tailgate with wraparound taillights. Overall, the car appears relatively faithful to the concept despite being toned down.

 

Mazda has been coy on specifications but the concept measured 4,070mm long, 1,730mm wide and 1,450mm tall with a wheelbase that spans 2,585mm. The concept also used a new 1.5-liter SKYACTIV-D turbodiesel engine that will eventually be offered in the production model.
