马自达负责全球销售和市场的主管Masahiro Moro近日透露了下一代CX-9的部分细节。现行版CX-9在2012年进行了改款，马自达目前正在开发新一代车型，预计新车将于2016年上市。由于新车将极有可能放弃采用包括V6引擎在内的福特零部件，转而采用更小的四缸涡轮增压柴油引擎，因此将有很大变化。另外，马自达不太可能推出柴油版本，这主要是由于CX-9的主要市场是美国，在哪里柴油车并不受欢迎。不过，由于很多同级车型，包括起亚索兰托和现代胜达都提供柴油版本，因此马自达也有可能重新考虑这一决定。Masahiro Moro还暗示，马自达有意推出搭载六缸引擎的更豪华车型。

 

Next-gen Mazda CX-9 due in 2016 with four-cylinder turbo engine

Mazda's global head of sales and marketing, Masahiro Moro, has shed some light regarding the next generation CX-9.

The current CX-9 was facelifted in 2012 and Mazda is currently working on a replacement which is expected to come out in 2016. It will be a significant departure since the model will most likely drop Ford-sourced parts such as the V6 engine in favor of a smaller four-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine.

 

A diesel-powered version is unlikely to happen since the CX-9's main market is United States where diesel engines are not very popular. However, Mazda might decide to rethink this decision taking into account lots of its competitors in this segment are offering a diesel engine, such as the Kia Sorento and Hyundai Santa Fe.

 

In related news, Masahiro Moro also hinted about Mazda's intentions to introduce a more luxurious model that would be powered by a six-cylinder engine.
