MINI is putting the finishing touches on the Cooper five-door hatchback as our spies have caught another prototype on the Nürburgring.

 

Looking instantly recognizable, the model follows in the footsteps of the standard Cooper but adopts two rear doors which should improve access to the rear seat. The car also appears slightly larger than the standard model but nothing is official as of yet.

 

Engine options will likely carryover from the three-door Cooper so expect choices to include:

A 1.5-liter three-cylinder petrol with 134 bhp (100 kW) and 170 lb-ft (230 Nm) of torque

A 1.5-liter three-cylinder diesel with 114 bhp (85 kW) and 199 lb-ft (269 Nm) of torque

A 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol with 189 bhp (141 kW) and 221 lb-ft (300 Nm) of torque
