路虎公司内部人士表示，新一代发现家族有三款以上车型。路虎明年开始将对旗下车型阵容进行大规模结构调整，将推出新一代发现运动版。路虎最初计划为新一代发现系列提供三款车型，但公司设计部门主管Richard Woolley表示，新一代发现系列车型将超过三款。他表示，路虎现在正考虑推出一款定位在极光之下的小型车，如果获批投产，该车将具备同级车型中最佳越野性能。同时，路虎表示，发现Vision概念车采用的透明引擎盖技术是完全可行的，而概念车采用的下一代地形反应系统将推广到量产车上，另外和语音辅助越野指导还将提供视频指导以帮助驾驶员更好的进行越野行驶。

 

Land Rover confirms new Discovery family will have more than three models

A Land Rover representative has told Auto Express the all-new Discovery family will encompass more than three members.

 

Land Rover will be going through a massive lineup restructuring starting next year with the arrival of the Discover Sport. Initially, the British marque planned three models for the new Discovery family but the company's design studio director Richard Woolley said the lineup will be enlarged to include more than just three cars.

 

He acknowledged Land Rover is currently taking into consideration the prospects of launching a smaller model to slot below the Evoque. If green-lighted for production, such a model will provide the best off-road capability in the segment, according to Woolley.

 

Interestingly, Dai Jones who is Research Senior Manager at Jaguar Land Rover says the transparent hood technology of the Discovery Vision Concept is "definitely doable but the challenge is making that commercially viable." He went on to say the concept's next-gen Terrain Response system will find its way on upcoming production models, along with the possibility of introducing a voice-assisted "off-road guidance coach" which would also provide video instructions.
