Chevrolet hints at an all-new Camaro for 2016

Chevrolet has quietly confirmed the 2015 Camaro will be "its final year in the fifth generation." This effectively means an all-new model is right around the corner.

 

The company has been relatively coy about the sixth-generation Camaro but previous reports have indicated it will likely debut at the 2015 North American Auto Show early next year. Little else is known about the car but rumors have suggested it will feature an evolutionary design that's "not drastically different" and looks like a "worked-over current-model Camaro."

 

The model is expected to ride on the Alpha platform that underpins the Cadillac ATS and CTS. There has also been rumors that it could be equipped with a seven-speed manual transmission and a dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

 

As for the 2015 Camaro, it carries over virtually untouched as the only change is a new Blue Velvet Metallic exterior color.
