Our spies have managed to snap the first pictures of the 2015 Volkswagen Touran.

 

Caught heavily disguised, the model appears to follow in the footsteps of its predecessor as it adopts a familiar shape that focus on practicality. While we can't make out many details, we can see the car will have LED-infused headlights, a larger grille and less pronounced fender flares.

 

Volkswagen has remained relatively quiet about the model but it is expected to ride on the new MQB platform. This could enable the car to weigh up to 100 kg (220 lbs) less than its predecessor.

 

Engines options will likely carryover from the Golf so choices could include:

A 1.2-liter TSI with outputs of 85 PS (63 kW) and 105 PS (77 kW)

A 1.4-liter TSI with outputs of 122 PS (90 kW) and 140 PS (103 kW)

A 1.6-liter TDI with 105 PS (77 kW)

A 2.0-liter TDI with 150 PS (110 kW)

 

Interestingly, rumors suggest the Touran could be coming to the United States but nothing is official as of yet.
