2015 Ford Transit gets detailed, goes on sale this summer

Ford has finally gotten around to releasing U.S. specifications for the 2015 Transit.

 

Set to go on sale this summer, the model will be available in four body styles - van, wagon, chassis cab and cutaway body - and three body lengths. The Transit will also offer three different roof heights and two different wheelbases for van and wagon variants.

 

Depending on its configuration, the Transit has a maximum towing capacity of 7,500 lbs (3,402 kg), a maximum payload capacity of 4,650 lbs (2,109 kg) and a maximum cargo capacity of 487.3 cubic feet.

 

Under the hood, three different engines will be available including:

A 3.7-liter V6 with 275 bhp (205 kW) and 260 lb-ft (352 Nm) of torque

A 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 with 310 bhp (231 kW) and 400 lb-ft (542 Nm) of torque

A turbocharged 3.2-liter Power Stroke five-cylinder diesel with 185 bhp (138 kW) and 350 lb-ft (474 Nm) of torque
