Our spies have managed to snap new pictures of the 2015 / 2016 Ford Everest.

 

Previewed by a similarly named concept last year, the production model is based on the Ranger and bears a striking resemblance to the Dodge Durango. As a result, it features an upright grille which is flanked by small sweptback headlights. Moving further back, there's plastic body cladding, an upward sweeping beltline and a tailgate-mounted spoiler.

 

Engine options remain unconfirmed but they could carryover from the Ranger. This means choices may include:

A 2.2-liter Duratorq TDCi four-cylinder diesel with 150 PS (110 kW) and 375 Nm (277 lb-ft) of torque

A 3.2-liter Duratorq TDCi five-cylinder diesel with 200 PS (147 kW) and 470 Nm (347 lb-ft) of torque

A 2.5-liter Duratec four-cylinder petrol with 166 PS (122 kW)

 

The Everest will be sold in a variety of markets and will be built in Thailand and China.
