Peugeot has fully revealed the 208 GTi 30th Anniversary special edition which comes with several enhancements.
Debuting today at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, Peugeot’s special 208 GTi marks the 30th anniversary of the 205 GTi and comes with a new Euro 6-compliant 1.6-liter THP 4-cylinder gasoline engine delivering 208 PS (153 kW) and 300 Nm (221 lb-ft). This makes it 8 PS (6 kW) and 25 Nm (18 lb-ft) more powerful than in the previous iteration.
Output is channeled to the front wheels through a six-speed manual transmission and also on the menu is a Torsen limited slip differential together with retuned suspension and steering systems which should provide the car with "exceptional traction and efficiency." On top of that, it boasts a two-tone red/black livery and rides on 18-inch alloy wheels wrapped around in Michelin Pilot Super Sport 205/40 ZR 18 tires.
It covers the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) run in 6.5 seconds and will reach 1 km (0.62 miles) from a standstill after 26.5 seconds. It takes six seconds in the 5th gear to accelerate from 50 mph (80 km/h) to 75 mph (120 km/h).
Sales of the Peugeot 208 GTi 30th Anniversary special edition are programmed to begin in November.
