Mysterious Toyota Auris spied, could be an off-road inspired variant

A mysterious Toyota Auris has been caught by our spy photographers.

 

While the model looks fairly ordinary, it appears to have larger alloy wheels and an increased ride height. This has led to speculation that the prototype is an off-road inspired variant in the same vein as Audi Allroad and Volkswagen Alltrack models.

 

If our spies are correct, the model will likely eschew all-wheel drive and the Auris' entry-level engines. This means power will likely be provided by a 1.6-liter four-cylinder petrol engine that develops 130 hp (97 kW) and 160 Nm (118 lb-ft) of torque.

 

Little else is known about the model but expect to learn more in the coming months.
