MG unveils their MG3 Trophy Championship concept

MG has taken the wraps off their new MG3 Trophy Championship concept.

 

Unveiled at last weekend's MG90 event, the concept is based on the MG3 and features an aerodynamic body kit that includes a new front splitter and an adjustable rear wing. The car has also been equipped with adjustable coilover suspension, a limited slip differential and 17-inch lightweight alloy wheels.

 

Interior pictures were not released but the cabin has a quick release steering wheel, a fire suppression system and a roll cage. The sound deadening material has also been removed to help reduce the car's weight.

 

Under the hood, the 1.5-liter VTi Tech engine has been equipped with a turbocharger, billet aluminum pistons, new camshafts and an optimized ECU. Thanks to these modifications, it develops 207 PS (152 kW) and 260 Nm (191 lb-ft) of torque - an increase of 101 PS (74 kW) and 124 Nm (91 lb-ft).
